Stanley Lunch Box & Cooler Set

Posted by definitive touch, July 14th, 2010

This isn’t your father’s … well actually, this Stanley Lunch Box & Cooler Set probably is your father’s lunch box set. But didn’t he have lunch all figured out? None of this mucking about with salad, or dithering with a pomegranate juice and hummus, or ducking to the bistro across the street for an order of pochouse with wine. A sandwich, an apple, and a vacuum bottle of black coffee, then back to work.

While we’ve come a long way since then, there’s something to be said for the brutal simplicity of that classic working man’s lunch, and the classic working man’s lunch box. It’s simple, it’s effective, it’s a classic, and it’s available here.

I remember when this first came in Canada in about 89. I was building a house and one of the stucco crew brought the first one to work (it later got crushed) and everyone gathered around to see it.

The design is alright, it looks a little cumbersome, though.
What about other colors? That green is more vomit than vintage.
