McLaren Celebrates 50th Anniversary With “Courage” Video

Posted by admindt, February 6th, 2013

Some fifty years ago Bruce McLaren formed his first F1 team, setting a course for one of the most storied and innovative car makers in history. Celebrated with this film, appropriately titled ‘Courage’, we see dramatized version of the team’s founder as he walks the Goodwood Circuit in England – retracing his steps to where he crashed on the Lavant Straight just before Woodcote corner and died in his Can-Am car. The video was directed by Swedish director Marcus Söderlund and concludes with a few lines McLaren penned himself on the death of teammate Timmy Mayer: “To do something well is so worthwhile that to die trying to do it better cannot be foolhardy. Indeed, life is not measured in years alone, but in achievement.”
