blipFM Interfacing Blip.fm

Blip.fm is an online-radio-like site that allows users to post ‘blips’. A Blip is a short Twitter style message post with a song attached to it. Each post is called a blip.
Users can create a blip by searching the site for a song they want to hear, or want others to hear. They can also listen to that song, or any song, by searching and playing it through the online library. Other users can reply to blips by posting their own opinions of the song.

Users can also add friends to their account, making it extremely quick and easy to share new music with just about anyone.

Users can also become their own DJ by creating a streaming audio station on Blip.fm, consisting of whatever playlists or songs the DJ would like. Other users can then comment on the station or the songs played, or give ‘props’ to DJs if they enjoy the station. Props are tokens of respect – each Blip user starts off with 10 credits (1 credit = 1 prop) and each prop received is equal to 1 new credit. The more props a user has, the popular they become.
