Growing up in Nigeria and the UK, Temitayo Abidoye’s knowledge of style came from his father who taught: appearance makes perception. Hence the timeless framework upon which his new men’s line is built. As founder and creative director of Spindle & Canister, Temitayo Abidoye’s effortless and classic style is woven into his collection. Subtle details, hand painted zippers, treated wooden buttons and preshrunk and softened fabrics are his signature. “I choose to stay away from trends and only work with the best fabrics and classic colors to create a lasting image for the timeless man. Clothes have the unique ability to define a man, so for me it is not about what is trendy; my clothes should held illuminate an identity.”
With a degree in International Business from Pepperdine University, a Masters in Marketing from the American Intercontinental University, and experience from a dissolved partnership on his first line ‘Stone Crown,’ Tayo is on a quest to make Spindle & Canister a household name. Spindle & Canister is presently distributed at www.spindleandcanister.com and select boutiques including Oak (NY), Canvas (Malibu), Revolve Clothing (LA), Live On Sunset (LA), Planet Blue (LA), Belmont Army (IL). He also has exclusive deals with Urban Outfitters for a line called Spindle and with Canvas in Malibu for Spindle & Canvas. Other recent projects include the current uniforms for Nobu in Malibu.

Lifestyles
1. Style has no boundaries and it’s important to understand what suits you (body type, skin color etc). Never buy or wear clothes because your favorite celebrity looks good in it.
2. Simple, classic, colorful details; I like simple earth tones. Simplicity shows that you have confidence and are at peace with yourself. People love that and do buy into it.
3. Don’t shy away from colors; they bring life to your wardrobe.
4.You make the clothes; they don’t make you. Its impossible for me to think you look good if you don’t feel you look good. So wear it!
5. Never underestimate the value of a good watch or shoes. It goes a long way in terms of perception.
6. Altoids are must; your bad breath could result in a musty lasting impression.
7. Never leave home without cash… you never know when your beloved credit card will reject you.
