Perhaps I jumped the gun with crew neck sweaters, since a heat wave has taken over. To celebrate the occasion, why not wear something as ludicrously inappropriate as the weather and sport a toque? That’s canadian for ‘hat.’ You know, the kind you wear in the winter. Since Fall clothing has hit stores but you won’t be able to wear it for a while, the toque is the perfect nod to the weather you wish you had—the colors, the textures, the veneer of hiding something (though probably just greasy hair), or just what you need to hide Voldemort while he rebuilds his strength.

Outfit 1:
I suppose there are two approaches to this. Either you wear the toque like it’s the centre piece—and it is—like this guy, who stuck to a fairly monochromatic look accented by the head gear. To make it look intentional, you can add some attention-grabbing shoes and some other interesting pieces (scarf, vest, pocket watch, anything that’s a little unusual). Or…

Outfit 2:
You wear it like you don’t give a damn. And realistically, you probably don’t since you’ve shrugged off it being sweltering in the shade and opted for the toque anyway. Bonus slacker points awarded to shaggy untamed hair—after all, the hat is there to keep it in place—and effortlessly hot ensembles.
