Le Vigne Artisanal Italian Wine, NYC 2

Le Vigne is a small wine shop in New York City, on Greenwich Avenue, sandwiched between Charles St. and West 10th Ave. Owned by Italian-American sommalier Carlo Orrica, Le Vigne’s small space features an artful assortment of chairs in the shop window which draws people in, and a solid collection of obscure and hard-to-find wines. The wines are displayed on a three-dimensional, cubist representation of Italy, with each wine placed on the region it’s from. The entire store was conceived and executed by architects and designers MADLAB, who have made the most of this small retail space. The store is clean, modern and artful, and owes more to the 1939 World’s Fair than it does to the usual neighbourhood wine store.
