Michael Venker, onetime Helmut Lang intern and Creative Director of Rochambeau takes the concept of a Lookbook and spins it into a piece of art with the Fall 2009 collection from the New York City menswear label. A collaborative venture between the label and Keystone Design Union sees a beautifully grungy collection of silver / gold / copper plated photographs printed on 120-year-old silk and bound between two distressed leather covers.

The collection itself is an updated range of classics manufactured from hardy fabrics in well defined silhouettes. The Fall collection is also adhering to an appropriately somber color palette and stark symmetry that ties into the visual representation rather sharply. Having created such a tangible and courageous account of the forthcoming seasonal collection, Rochambeau and KDU manage to immortalize an otherwise disposable standard.
