Interfacing – Musicovery

Musicovery is this week’s feature on Interfacing. Musicovery is a music website that allows you to stream music not simply based on artist and genre, but also by the mood of the song. At the center of this sorting method is Musicovery’s Mood Radio grid. Simply click anywhere in the grid relative to how you’re feeling, to generate a random playlist tagged with the same emotions. At the top of the y axis is ‘Energetic’, with ‘Calm’ at the other end, and ‘Dark’ and ‘Positive’ on the x axis. Where you click along these grids, Musicovery generates a playlist relative to the co-ordinates selected, creating an intriguing new playlist for you!

You can even go one-step further and download Musicovery iTunes plug-in, to generate a playlist using the music stored on your computer! Despite the paid subscription fee, the features Musicovery has to offer are far more economical than purchasing the individual songs online. Combine that with the user-friendly interface and the colourful design scheme, and you have your own personal jukebox of unlimited music.
