Tovar Spring 2012

After years of designing clothing for various established brands, L.A. based designer Terence Yeung has decided to follow his passion and launch Tovar, a brand inspired by his many travels.

Offering a line of versatile, quality basics, Tovar is designed with the jetsetter and excursionist in mind. This being said, don’t think for a second that any piece within the collection lacks style or design; Tovar offers both functionality and a refined sense of taste by attaching warm colour hues to staple menswear patterns.

The collection itself offers a variety of outerwear that is worth mentioning, with special being paid towards the lightweight cotton varsity jacket. The navy blue centre of the jacket is perfectly complimented by its caramel coloured sleeves, with contrasting detail on the cuffs and pocket trim. We appreciate the simplicity of this jacket, since so many varsity inspired pieces are embroidered with gaudy logos and lettering.

The various rain resistant full zip coats include necessary detailing, such as a rear mudflap and concealed hood, that has been strategically incorporated within the design; thankfully, there isn’t one brash added accessory within this collection.

Available for sale this month, Tovar will be available across the U.S. at American Rag, Ron Herman, Life Curated, Aloha Sundays, Revolve Clothing, and 80’s Purple. Be sure to keep an eye on this new brand, we expect good things to come.
