Our Editorial Method
DefinitiveTouch publishes practical wardrobe guidance alongside an archive of men’s-style reporting. This page explains what readers can—and cannot—infer from those articles.
Archive authorship and current revisions
Named contributors receive credit for their original reporting. Their historical biographies are not a current staff list. Generic administrative accounts are displayed as “DefinitiveTouch archive”, not presented as invented individuals. New editorial additions are identified separately rather than attributed to the original writer.
Corrections belong in the article
When a substantive revision is made, incorrect wording is replaced in the relevant passage. A short final note records the update date, original publication date and scope of the revision. Established URLs and retained photography are preserved unless a change is needed. Updating a date is not a substitute for updating the content.
Sources and AI assistance
The recent guides and refreshes were prepared with AI-assisted research and editing. Factual changes are checked against linked sources, with primary maker, institution or industry sources used where appropriate. A maker’s marketing claim is not independent testing. Where a product specification or availability cannot be verified, the article should say so rather than guess.
Guidance is not hands-on testing
Fitting-room checklists, care questions and buying scenarios help readers assess their own choices. They are not laboratory tests or first-hand reviews of every archived item. We do not invent product use, qualifications or expert review. Cost-per-wear figures are estimates based on the reader’s assumptions, not durability predictions.
Commercial context
The publication may be supported by advertising or affiliate revenue. That does not establish the quality of a product or make a historical retailer link a current offer. Readers should verify current specifications, stock, prices, care instructions and seller terms before purchasing.
