Located in Berlin-Mitte, 14 oz. is one of the most unique, most vibrant clothing retailers in modern Germany. Building itself on a core brand list focused around casual wear and functional everyday clothes, the brand list is built around top tier brands such as Levi’s Vintage, Engineered Garments, Barbour and Red Wing Shoes. Moreover, 14oz. is honored to carry Nigel Cabourn’s namesake line.

The 2009 German fashion Store of the Year (as awarded by the Hauptverband des Deutschen Einzelhandels), 14 oz. is hosted in a historic four-story listed house, first built in 1890 by Alfred Messel. The building was used as a coffee house, reading hall, underworld den, and brothel at various times over the past century, until repurposed as a warehouse then retail space in the second half of the 20th century.

The current interior was designed by Ansgar Schmidt and Henning Ziepke of s1 architektur, emphasizing a functional, warehouse like space in the basement and ground floor, and a luxe boutique on the second floor. The building’s heritage and spirit is communicated through the beautiful design, giving customers an easy, relaxing shopping experience. Anybody travelling through Berlin needs to visit 14 oz. at least once.
