
Sweden’s Blank drew inspiration for its spring 2010 collection from Tinariwen, a blues band from Mali. Belonging to the nomadic people of Touraeg, Tinariwen was founded while training in a Libyan military camp for independence from Mali’s regime. Designers Fredrik Blank and Åsa Göransson have taken cues from the nomadic lifestyle and created a collection of deconstructed and worn-in garments that blend Blank’s trademark tailoring with flowing lines and earth tones. Assembled in mysterious and intriguing manner, the spring collection relaxed, organic and accessible in all the right ways…
