Maia O. Albers – Trojan Condoms Package Redesign

Posted by definitive touch, February 12th, 2010

Maia O. Albers, a graphic designer working out of Savannah, Georgia, has designed a discreet and highly stylized packaging solution to a product calling out for discretion: Trojan Condoms. This package features – among other things – a slim profile, muted color tones, and a movable band which serves as a means of concealing any indication of contents, its reverse even containing an instruction guide on proper usage. With all these elements working together seamlessly and stylishly, Albers’ design proves to be a great improvement over the status quo.

horribly stupid-is this some college kid who’s scared to buy condoms?

this would sell well with old people

    fabulous idea.

i don’t think the person is scared so much as recognizing the fact that the packaging design on most condom packages is ugly as hell.

It’s extremely clever in every way. The color palette is subdued and pleasing to the eye, not like some of the garish current packaging design we see for most condom brands. Not only that, but the slim design allows for easy stashing in pants pockets or even a clutch purse. Try and do THAT with the current package design. Lastly, it’s much more environmentally friendly than any of the boxes sitting on the shelves to date. Horribly stupid? I think not.
