CDG Junya Watanabe Fall/ Winter 2012 Runway Collection

We have finally received a detailed look of the Junya Watanabe signature CDG Fall/Winter 2012 collection, and are quite relieved to say that the overalls have been kept to a minimum. After seeing an onslaught of rubber boots and gardening attire with the release of his Spring 2012 line, we didn’t know what to expect, but Watanabe has prevailed with a more conservative design inspired by his rural motif.

Patchwork is still very much apparent within the collection, but incorporated in a subtle way that allows each piece to make a bold statement without being too loud. This can partly be attributed to the use of less vibrant tones to coincide with the fall and winter season, serving as a better colour palette to host the gardener inspired design.

Each ensemble put together for the show was delightfully constructed, delivering a unique mixture of colour, material, and design. Consisting of a series of cuffed trousers and denim, rich plaid knits, as well as quilted and wool jackets, we are quite impressed with Junya’s latest offerings for the 2012 Fall/ Winter season. Now all we have to do is play the waiting game.
