Private White VC Fall/Winter 2012 Collection

Private White VC refers to Private Jack White, who fought in the Gallipoli Campaign as part of an Anglo-French effort to capture Constantinople. In 1917, following the war, White was awarded the Victoria Cross upon which he returned to England and eventually became the owner of a clothing factory. Today, this same Manchester factory is run by his great-grandchildren and produces the clothing label Private White VC – a menswear line that draws on White’s own wardrobe, military influences, and a history of careful craftsmanship.
