A new book sent over by Prestel Publishing The New Gypsies by Iain McKell offers an extraordinary glimpse into the lives of a group of present-day nomads who build their lives around ideals of freedom, nature and simplicity.
Beginning in 1986, a group of post-punk, anti-Thatcher protester headed out of London into the countryside. McKell has followed them over the years, as the present-day rural anarchists live a subversive lifestyle and share a desire for sustainability, self-reliance and disdain for the trappings of contemporary life.
