Ladies Touch – Labor Day Light Wash

The crux of the summer is looming, which means it’s prime time to bust out your whites and lights while they’re still seasonally kosher and secure from street splatters. Nothing makes you feel fresher than strutting around in the sun or lazing about in the shade dressed entirely in crisp whites, light greys, creams and washed-out blues. Besides, what could be more appropriate than rocking the epitomical shades of leisure in salute of the definitive holiday weekend of the summer?

Outfit 1: This gentleman is a fine showcase of how to avoid banality when dressing light. The creative layering gives this outfit depth and casual structure, while the nuanced shades of grey in the pants and vest rescue it from uniformity. The addition of chunky accessories such as the bag and combat boots bring this ethereal ensemble down to earth, masterfully balancing feminine and masculine elements.

Outfit 2: The summer shorts suit is the ultimate in refined, comfortable balmy-weather wear. The textures of a good seersucker suit pair beautifully with a neutral shirt and a few, select embellishments. Spiced up with a bowtie and a conversation-provoking shoe and sock combo, this lightweight suit is debonair at the very least.

Outfit 1 was sourced from Streetpeeper, Outfit 2 was sourced from The Sartorialist.
