Remember that SNL sketch ‘Bear City’, that showed bears in a average mundane, humanoid scenarios? This is a little like that. Conceptual artist Julia Kim Smith, famous for work which, “explores issues of identity, memory, and the artistic, social, and political landscape,” has just unveiled her latest undertaking.
In this project, Smith imagines the idea that notoriously elusive graffiti artist, Banksy has visited her at her home and is now meandering her property, doing very “everyman” things. The hooded figure is seen eating cereal, enjoying beer and lounging around as if he were not the most talked about street artists of the 21st century. Very Interesting.
Real Banksy or not, between this and Exit Through The Gift Shop, I feel like the world’s most hidden man, is hop-skip away from doing Piers Morgan. (Note Frank Kozik’s ‘Smokin’ Bunny’ in every shot)
