These Brooks leather saddles are a thing of beauty. The 150 year old leather company started out as horse riding accessories. However, after John Boultbee Brooks could not afford a horse and discovered his bicycle seat to be very uncomfortable, he had a stroke of enlightenment. Making leather bike seats for decades, the company was finally taken over by Raleigh in 1962. Today Brooks has struck out on its own again with its line of bicycle paraphernalia, all done in the heritage of its original leather goods.
This latest offering from the Select line, is a traditional looking Brooks seat however covered in organic raised “natural paced” hide, which according to them, is tougher and more rigid than any prior leather used. Unless stolen, you will own this seat for a long time.
