Lacoste has sponsored Roland Garros for forty years, and will celebrate that fact with this commemorative polo shirt. The shirt brand was first founded by René Lacoste, Le Crocodil, a three-time French Open champion. It is fitting then, that in 1971, the competition first found itself sponsored by Lacoste’s brand.
In addition to the familiar Lacoste crocodile embroidered onto the breast, there is an embroidered detail of le Coupe des Mousquetaires, the men’s singles trophy, and the Roland Garros crest. Shipping in a box with graphics celebrating 40 years of Lacoste at the French Open, you can find the shirt in store at colette.
