Paul Smith has not earned a reputation as a man who takes many risks, yet this spring / summer 2011 collection does just that. Eschewing the traditionalism of his mainlines, this collection spills forth a formless, modern continental shape that stands in stark relief against his usual structured suits. Shape is spurned, and creative draping and colorful patterns make this collection a remarkable offering.
