Sperry Top-Sider has been kind enough to give us a closer look at its 75th Anniversary collection, a brilliant tribute to Sperry’s maritime heritage. Did you know that Sperry was founded in 1935 by sailor Paul Sperry, who was seeking a better boat shoe? Inspired by his pet dog’s sure-footedness, he based the grooves of the classic Sperry boat shoe’s sole on the grooves of dog’s paw. Now, 75 years later, Sperry is one of the most respected names in boat shoes, and this collection celebrates that tradition. These classic shoes are available now at J. Crew, in limited edition boxes emulating the original Sperry boxes from 1935.
