Japanese brand Nanamica’s mission statement is to “bring together experts in casual and sports wear and import items, seeking to bring products that makes our everyday lives happy, comfortable, and stylish.” When it comes to the Windstopper duffle coat the company has just released, I think that’s mission achieved. While normally I’m not fond of a zippered closure on a duffle coat*, that minor shortcoming is made up for tenfold with the addition of an eye-catching plaid lining on the inside of the jacket and hood. Personally, I’d forgo the use of the zipper and either wear it open or fastened closed with the actual toggles.
*The toggles on a duffle coat are there for a reason. By fastening the jacket closed with a zipper, you’re defeating the intended purpose of the toggles. The toggles aren’t supposed to be ornaments, so don’t treat them as such.
