In Into the Wild, Grzegorz Wełniki examines the unique case of a feral child. Astonishing as though it seems, Sylvie was abandoned in the wild by her mother. Raised by monkeys, she was brought back into civilization years later. Now living in the Ivory Coast, she struggles with language and human interaction. Over one hundred cases of feral children have been documented, but the process for re-integration into human society is a catch-as-catch-can affair, with no roadmap for rehabilitation.
