This morning GQ dropped an insightful article chronicling the rapid growth of the online menswear community. As someone who has been inherently interested in style for a long time, I remember looking to several of the blogs mentioned in this article as an outlet to learn more about the clothing I was intrigued by. It’s truly amazing to see how far some of these sites have grown into well respected communities over the years, and just how much brands have started to pay attention to bloggers who offer substantial feedback on their products — be it good or bad. There is no doubt in my mind that the people who have become successful as a result of blogging about menswear have a voice and opinion and aren’t afraid to share it. It will be rather interesting to see where this ever-growing community ends up over the next couple years, though. Will people still be blogging/tumbling about their favourite garb? Or, will this community become a ghost town, leaving only the remnants of what once was? I guess time will time.
